Charlotte Young has become a key legal and operational leader in Auction.com’s efforts to modernize foreclosure sales across the country. As senior staff attorney, Young focuses on turning complex legal and regulatory requirements into practical processes that expand access, improve transparency and help foreclosure sales operate more efficiently and compliantly.
Over the past year, Young has worked closely with internal teams, legislators, courts and law firm partners to address legal uncertainty and operational friction at the source. In Illinois, she helped draft and advocate for legislation that created a structured framework for online foreclosure auctions, expanding bidder participation and helping support stronger price execution. Since Illinois came online in September 2025, more than 1,000 homes have been brought to auction and volume has grown month over month.
In Texas, Young led efforts to clarify definitions in Chapter 51 of the Texas Property Code, helping remove a longstanding ambiguity around trustees and substitute trustees that had created inconsistent practices across the state. In New York, she worked with courts and the Office of Court Administration to pilot and then expand remote bidding statewide through foreclosure judgments, opening a more practical path for broader participation without sacrificing court oversight.
Young is also the legal point of contact for Auction.com’s Assign the Bid program and supports compliance and marketing guidance tied to legislative changes across multiple states. Her work continues to help Auction.com build more durable, transparent and modern foreclosure processes while improving outcomes for bidders, sellers and homeowners.
What is one habit that has helped you succeed?
Being on time is a habit that has helped me succeed. In government affairs work, punctuality is respect, and it is one of the fastest ways to build trust with legislators, court stakeholders and partners. It forces preparation, keeps projects moving and makes it easier to collaborate when the work is complex.
