Avery Shackelford has helped shape Lower’s strategy in real estate agent programs by leading initiatives that blend operational execution with long-term business development. As vice president of Agent Programs, Shackelford oversees go-to-market strategy, sales, customer success and revenue operations for Lower’s individual agent programs while working closely with product, technology and partnerships teams.
Over the past year, Shackelford contributed to two major initiatives that advanced Lower’s strategic positioning. One was the successful sale of the Lever business to PLACE, which created a growth platform for that business while also establishing a national partnership that positions Lower as a lending option for PLACE teams, agents and consumers across the country.
Shackelford also led the launch of Movoto Advantage, a subscription-based offering designed to help solo agents grow their business through introductions to active buyers and sellers. Since scaling in the fourth quarter of 2025, the program has enrolled more than 100 solo agents, giving participants a more predictable source of opportunity in a difficult market.
Known for a thoughtful and data-driven leadership style, Shackelford balances urgency with long-term strategy and remains closely involved in execution. During the launch of Movoto Advantage, she pushed for a higher standard around consistency and predictability so the program could become a dependable part of agents’ business growth.
Her work continues to help Lower expand the value it delivers to real estate agents while building programs designed for measurable impact, stronger customer outcomes and long-term strategic growth.
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
My grandmother collected meaningful quotes throughout her life, and one that has always resonated with me is “Begin — the rest is easy,” attributed to George W. Jenkins. When I’m facing a challenge or complexity and the path feels unclear, this reminder grounds me — the hardest part is taking the first step, and once you begin, momentum builds, clarity follows and progress unfolds one decision at a time.
