At Lower, Dart Budz leads the company’s financial strategy as chief financial officer. With 23 years of experience as a senior finance leader at organizations including Bank of America and Lowe’s, he has guided finance organizations through periods of contraction and expansion while strengthening controls and building high-performance teams.
Since joining Lower in early 2025, Budz has supported organic growth, margin discipline and M&A execution during a volatile housing market. Within his first month, he played a role in financial due diligence for Lower’s acquisition of Movoto, a top-five U.S. real estate portal that generated 150 million visits in 2024, creating an additional customer acquisition channel for the company.
He has also worked to improve how financial information is delivered to the executive team, introducing new approaches to reviewing contribution margin, strengthening the investment decision-making framework and enhancing cash forecasting models. These efforts have supported greater consistency in reporting and improved forecasting of short- and long-term cash needs during a period of growth. As a member of the C-suite, Budz partners on major strategic and financial decisions, providing analysis to inform the company’s direction.
