Abigail Williams brings a combination of legal experience and business perspective to her role as chief legal officer at Lima One Capital. Since joining the company in 2021, she has taken on leadership roles through shifting market conditions and internal transformation. In July 2024, she was promoted to chief legal officer and also assumed responsibility for the HR function, overseeing Legal, Compliance and Human Resources.
Williams plays a central role in guiding the company’s legal and operational strategy. Her work has included strengthening internal compliance frameworks; revising loan documents and broker agreements; and supporting key organizational initiatives. She led the legal and compliance execution of Lima One’s first rated securitization of residential transitional loans — which required extensive collaboration across legal, investor and regulatory channels. This transaction marked a milestone for the company in the institutional capital markets space.
Internally, Williams has focused on building cross-functional processes that enable better risk evaluation and faster decision-making. She helped implement a partnership with GoDocs to streamline document compliance and supported the hiring of over 30 sales professionals to align talent with business goals. Under her leadership, HR has evolved into a more strategic function within the company.
Williams also led contract negotiations for Lima One’s future headquarters in downtown Greenville, SC. Following Hurricane Helene’s impact on the region, she coordinated employee support efforts that helped the business continue operating. She also contributes to the broader community through board roles at the YMCA of Greenville and The Children’s Museum of the Upstate.
