Mittal has significantly enhanced the lender experience, overseeing organizational changes that tripled onboarding speed and generated $2.5 billion in new deliveries across 90 sellers between 2023 and 2024. He has leveraged technology to streamline loan assessment and purchase processes, helping Freddie Mac provide nearly $350 billion in single-family liquidity in 2024, with 52% of financed primary residences going to first-time buyers.
He fosters a culture of engagement through Leadership Roundtables and serves as executive chair for employee Business Resource Groups. Innovations introduced under his guidance include Loan Product Advisor® (LPA®), which saves sellers up to $1,500 per loan, the Freddie Mac Income Calculator, reducing loan repurchases by 56%, LPA Choice®, and DPA One®, connecting loan officers to over 900 down payment assistance programs. These tools have qualified 18,000 additional borrowers and enrolled more than 9,000 loan officers as of July 2025.
