Since joining Freedom Mortgage in August 2020, McEnerney has leveraged his extensive experience in mortgage lending, banking, and Wall Street to reduce risks, gain access to capital, and identify new revenue opportunities. As the lead negotiator with commercial and investment bank partners, he has overseen the issuance and restructuring of over $4 billion in unsecured debt and renegotiated approximately $10 billion in warehouse facilities. These efforts have lowered borrowing costs, improved financial covenants, and ensured compliance with capital and liquidity requirements.
Under McEnerney’s guidance, Freedom Mortgage has added novel financing structures, facilitating substantial growth and enabling the company to thrive amidst industry challenges. In 2024, Freedom Mortgage reached $122 billion in production volume and serviced mortgages for over 2.5 million homeowners, representing more than $625 billion in loans.
