Mike Abner leads HomeLight’s technology strategy with a focus on practical AI that improves agent performance and product velocity. As chief technology officer, Abner directed the rollout of AI capabilities for texting, lead qualification and expected revenue modeling to address a persistent challenge in direct-to-consumer real estate: unresponsive leads. The tools help agents re-engage prospects, prioritize opportunities and forecast outcomes with more accuracy.
Abner also guided development of an AI coaching platform that delivers post-call suggestions, follow-up reminders and strategy adjustments, with VoiceAI and coaching features integrated into HomeLight’s mobile app so guidance is available in the agent workflow. Abner introduced an internal AI app builder that allows non-engineers to ship tools independently, lowering the barrier to experimentation and speeding time to market.
Abner expanded AI adoption across engineering as well, leading teams to produce hundreds of thousands of AI-assisted lines of code in the first half of 2025. He has paired that productivity with automation for non-technical teams to streamline operations. The result is faster cycles, cleaner handoffs and tools that keep real estate professionals and clients at the center while AI handles repetitive tasks.
