What is one thing you would tell a younger version of yourself?

I graduated with a degree in Criminal Justice and entered FAMU’s College of Law at just 20 years old, too young even to enjoy a legal drink..Reflecting on that time takes me back to my 20-year-old self in 2008, a bright and eager young Black woman on the brink of a daunting journey through law school, determined to continue excelling academically. While I possessed intelligence, I was largely naive about the realities of the world around me. I was unprepared for the challenges the recession and the housing crisis would impose on my family...I want to embrace and reassure her, telling her: No matter the challenges life throws your way, and regardless of how unprepared you may feel for what lies ahead, allow yourself the grace to stumble and learn. Every adversity you face on your journey to success will reveal that YOU ARE ENOUGH. You already have everything within you, and with the right support, you will make it through.
