2024 Woman of Influence: Cyndi Leonard

Cyndi Leonard

Cyndi Leonard embodies inspiration and influence through her exceptional ability to drive change and foster personal and professional growth. Her remarkable accomplishments of serving Navy Federal Credit Union’s military members and their families by helping them to realize their homeownership or financing needs while developing new leaders and burgeoning mortgage careers is second to none. Through her visionary approach and commitment to empowering others, she has transformed the lives of many and serves as a role model for aspiring leaders.

Leonard has consistently demonstrated professional excellence and remarkable leadership within the organization. She’s a regular attendee of the MBA Women in Real Estate finance conference, while advocating for leaders to network, learn and excel in their careers. Her dedication to empowering women is further exemplified by leadership in organizing and leading over 100 women leaders within real estate lending to attend the UWF Women in Leadership Conference, fostering a culture of inclusivity while highlighting the importance of women in the industry.

Over the past year, Leonard has been instrumental in examining and supporting not only her portion of the first mortgage pipeline at Navy Federal, but also driving change from top to bottom to serve as many members as possible. While Leonard directly leads all of first mortgage processing, she pioneered a key effort to pull more loans through the sales and origination pipeline to ensure that business stayed balanced, and Navy Federal achieved both financial and member satisfaction targets. She has also demonstrated great flexibility in upskilling and re-skilling her staff to support equity processing and products to meet demand and grow market share in this arena.
