James O’Bryon is the definition of a vanguard in the industry, guiding RE/MAX Gold Nation for more than 28 years. O’Bryon’s ingenious view of the real estate world has led to exponential growth and an extraordinary environment designed for successful agents, staff and essential services partners.
O’Bryon has led RE/MAX Gold Nation through many tough times across the years, including the Great Recession. He carried Gold Nation through that time and emerged with an organization that was smarter, healthier and better poised for growth and support. This healthy growth has come to fruition in the years since.
The pandemic presented unique challenges. O’Bryon did not shy away from growth and change but instead leaned into it. Gold Nation at the start of the pandemic was in one state. Since then, his leadership saw the organization expand from five offices and 100 agents to 115 offices with over 3,000 agents in six states. O’Bryon’s insight and vision during this time helped create a supportive place not only for agents, but also for staff and leadership. As the company evolved in a post-pandemic era, he guided it into new realms in Essential Services — leading the creation of a joint venture with CMG Financial, resulting in HomeGuide Mortgage. Additionally, the company has added partnerships with Orange Coast Title and Gold Insurance Solutions. 2024 will bring Gold Capital Partners, allowing agents and staff to own a part of Gold Nation and bring a new level of connectivity and growth.
O’Bryon’s relentless approach to growth, adaptation and change has created an environment of leaders who do not quit and are always looking at how the company can evolve and improve. Without him, RE/MAX Gold Nation would not have seen the astronomical growth it has had over the years under his guidance.
