Jensen Szakaly, managing director of the Mortgage Fulfillment division at Pennymac, is a reputable leader who embodies the progressive qualities of a Rising Star. Since beginning his career at Pennymac in 2011, Szakaly advanced his career from analyst to managing director. His collaborative attributes and innovative approach to advancing the digital lending experience have played a pivotal role in the company’s overall success. Szakaly, in close partnership with the organization’s sales team, contributed significantly to Pennymac’s growth, helping it become the nation’s third-largest wholesale lender, among other notable achievements.

At Pennymac, Szakaly leads a large team of national mortgage professionals and is directly responsible for all aspects of mortgage fulfillment including, but not limited to, the digital lending experience, automation, workflow optimization, IT systems development, and expense management. Szakaly supported the deployment of Closed End Second mortgages and has significantly improved customer experience for all direct lending channels within the business. 

Szakaly spearheaded the implementation of a technology solution enabling loan officers to escalate questions and concerns to a dedicated team member within Pennymac TPO’s fulfillment process. He also improved loan manufacturing quality through enhanced controls and automated data checks with external vendors and renegotiated several contracts resulting in significant cost savings.

Throughout Szakaly’s impressive career as a results-oriented leader, he has effectively cultivated a workplace culture within the Mortgage Fulfillment Division that reinforces the company’s strategic goals and values. By regularly meeting with individuals at all levels of the organization, Szakaly promotes an inclusive environment where team members feel valued and motivated. What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Do what you have to do today, so you can do what you want to do tomorrow. Be proactive and take advantage of the present, rather than postponing tasks and responsibilities for another day.
