Through Stan Martin’s leadership as chief operating officer, the Austin Board of REALTORS (ABoR) and its multiple listing service, Unlock MLS, are regarded throughout the real estate industry as one of the most progressive and technology-forward REALTOR associations and MLSs in the country. Internally, Martin has dramatically increased operational efficiency and subscriber value by overhauling ABoR’s technology infrastructure. Martin is a champion for fostering accurate, clear, and timely real estate market data for agents and consumers via several industry partnerships and leadership roles.

The mission of Unlock MLS is to steward a trustworthy, transparent marketplace where Central Texans — and the REALTORS who serve them — have access to the most complete, up-to-date real estate data intelligence, with the goal of making home accessible and attainable for all. Throughout his 20-plus year tenure at ABoR and Unlock MLS, Martin has exemplified this mission time and again. This not only includes consistently launching new technologies and market tools for Unlock MLS subscribers but also completely overhauling internal technologies (e.g., website platform, association management system, phone system, 30,000 sq. ft. headquarters AV system, and hybrid IT infrastructure) in a four-year period that included the COVID-19 pandemic.

Martin has also overseen multiple complex litigation scenarios for ABoR and Unlock MLS, as well as the launch of programs and resources that help their 20,000 MLS subscribers navigate the industry’s ongoing, litigious environment. This includes supporting subscribers through the massive MLS and broker business practice changes taking effect this summer as part of the NAR class action settlement agreement.
