Ian Kimball has led the accounting and finance organizations at Service First Mortgage through a challenging market in 2023 with exceptional results while maintaining a high level of morale across departments. As Executive Director of Strategy, Kimball sets the vision for the company and then executes that vision across his groups and the entire organization.

Kimball consistently demonstrates exceptional financial acumen and expertise, coupled with a remarkable ability to manage expenses effectively. Service First does not have a CFO, so the controller and accounting and finance teams report to him. In 2023, Kimball led the reworking of our margin grids, expense management, and staffing levels, leading Service First to profitability in 2023. The innovative approach Kimball brought to the business helped Service First land multiple new home builder accounts, through buydown and Forward Commitment programs, as well as recruit several new, high-producing branches in 2023.

Kimball won the Capstone Award from Simple Nexus in 2023 as a leader for “the best small to mid-sized mortgage company” for his innovative approach to the customer experience and won two awards (Most Impactful & Crowd Favorite) as an invitee and participant to FHFA’s inaugural 2023 Velocity Tech Sprint on Capitol Hill. Kimball’s forward-thinking approach has led Service First to implement new technology that automates portions of the mortgage fulfillment process, driving down human capital costs while simultaneously reducing error rates and increasing productivity.
