Chryssa Halley

Chryssa Halley plays a key role in enabling Fannie Mae’s mission of facilitating equitable and sustainable access to homeownership and quality, affordable rental housing across America by providing insightful analytics and collaborative thought leadership to inform and improve the company’s strategy while strengthening decision-making. She is a trusted leader who has transformed processes and technology, including adopting agile practices, leading through change in the modeling space, and driving employee careers through internal rotation opportunities. Halley ensures that Fannie Mae manages risk dynamically through changing market conditions and the growing impacts of climate change.

Halley is responsible for Fannie Mae’s financial management, enterprise climate and modeling as well as the economic and strategic research functions, leading a finance division of more than 1,000 employees which balances traditional finance functions and support for the company as a leading provider of mortgage financing. One of Fannie Mae’s primary corporate goals is to enhance our financial and risk positions. Halley and her team directly deliver on that goal through their work on modeling and analytics while keeping the safety and soundness of the housing market at the forefront.

This year, Halley and her team contributed successfully by rethinking controls testing, streamlining the forecasting and stress testing processes, and supporting our corporate initiatives to improve the modeling process. Enhancing modeling and forecasting capabilities, including understanding and addressing model limitations when creating forecasts, enables Fannie Mae to respond quickly and effectively to changing market conditions.
