Senate Banking Committee passes flood insurance legislation
Sep 09, 2011The Mortgage Bankers Association applauded the Senate Banking committee for passing the Flood Insurance Reform Act of 2011 this week. The legislation will extend the program another five years through 2016. The Act provides affordable flood insurance to homeowners living in certain at-risk communities. The legislation has already passed the House and still needs to pass the Senate before reaching the President’s desk.
