It maintains a portfolio of approximately 78,000 apartments in regions including Boston, New York, Washington D.C, Southern California, San Francisco, Seattle and Denver. The portfolio is focused in urban and high-density suburban locations, the company said.

Founded in 1967, Equity Residential is based in Chicago, Illinois.
