Blackstone Alternative Asset Management named Anthony Maniscalco as the managing director of the company’s investment team. Maniscalco will work closely with Greg Hall and other senior team members to grow BAAM’s platform to purchase ownership interests in hedge fund businesses.

Before joining BAAM, Maniscalco was the head of alternative asset management with Barclays financial institutions investment banking division. At Barclays, Maniscalco oversaw banking relationships with more than 50 asset managers.

“At Blackstone, we have worked with Anthony in his capacity as an investment banker at Barclays.  We have been very impressed by his intelligence, integrity, creativity and work ethic.  Anthony will be a major asset to our senior management team,” stated J. Tomilson Hill, vice chairman of Blackstone and President and CEO of BAAM.

Hill also said BAAM is grateful for our partnership with Barclays, and expects the relationship to grow with the addition of Anthony.

Since 2007, BAAM has nearly double its team and plans to significantly increase its professional headcount in 2013, added Hill.
