John Stevens is a passionate and articulate advocate for the mortgage industry. He has served as the youngest president of the National Association of Mortgage Brokers, and most recently has been named chief marketing officer of a new wholesale company, SRE Mortgage Alliance. Stevens started on the NAMB board of directors in 2011, served as vice president for the 2015 to 2016 year, president-elect for the 2016 to 2017 year and was sworn in as president for the 2017 to 2018 year. He is now the immediate past president of NAMB, as well as ethics chair for the 2018 to 2019 term.  Stevens has also served as a NAMB committee member on the Membership, Bylaws, Policy and Procedures, Nominating, Finance and Government Affairs Committees. With a profile that is consistently recognized as one of the top 3% most viewed profiles in the world on LinkedIn, Stevens is known for his expert knowledge of social media, marketing and personal branding. Stevens is a recipient of many awards, including being recognized for more than seven years running as one of the 40 most Influential Mortgage Professionals.

What is one thing you had to overcome to succeed in this industry? 
“For me to be truly successful, it has to be about the people who I work with and the customers we serve. That is how we build success. By lifting others up, not by inflating our own egos.”
