Wunderlich adds Rob Smialek as SVP of fixed income capital markets

Tasked with leading growth in mortgage-backed security sales

Wunderlich, a full-service investment firm headquartered in Memphis, announced the addition of Rob Smialek as a senior vice president in its fixed income capital markets division.

According to a release from the company, Smialek will help lead growth in mortgage-backed security sales and whole loan trading with a focus on the U.S. residential mortgage banking community, banks, and credit unions.

Smialek brings experience in all aspects of mortgage securities includes lending production and servicing, pricing, trading, valuations and hedging interest rate risk in the secondary market, the company said.

Smialek joins Wunderlich from New Penn Financial, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Shellpoint Partners, where he headed trading and hedging.
