Daniel Gotay joined Asset Based Lending (ABL) when there were only 20 employees, initially focusing on the buildout of ABL’s asset management infrastructure. He is now SVP and manages four teams (capital markets, treasury, quality control, and collateral), also built from scratch. Gotay has been instrumental in laying the groundwork for ABL, resulting in $1 billion-plus of total whole loan sales and a first-time securitization issuance.
Since Gotay began developing the capital markets team at ABL, the organization has executed $300 million in DSCR loan sales, contributing to Asset Based Lending’s nearly $1 billion in loan trading and securitization to date. The groups under Gotay’s management are critical to financing the company and require flawless execution across ABL’s warehouse, securitization, and whole loan trading operations. Gotay has also led the integration of several other critical business processes, such as the rating agency diligence integration, offshore implementation, advanced draw technology, and collateral support technology. Gotay regularly attends industry-leading conferences, keeping the firm at the forefront of cutting-edge technology and market data. Additionally, Gotay has successfully expanded ABL’s capability to build new products and partnerships through rating agency integration and bringing in offshore efficiency.
Gotay has started training programs that ensure those who are early career starters, or just new to the organization, are consistently receiving high-level training and mentorship. Gotay has ensured that even as headcount increases, new employees still have access to learn from and connect with senior leadership — like he did when the organization was only 20 members large.
