Homeowners with mortgages, which account for roughly 63% of all properties, gained $1 trillion in equity between the fourth quarter of 2021 and the fourth quarter of 2022, according to a report released by CoreLogic. Along with this increase in equity, there has been an increase in demand by borrowers to tap into that equity.
