HousingWire, the most influential source of news and information for the U.S. housing market, is looking for a general assignment reporter to join our growing newsroom of accomplished business journalists.
The ideal candidate is a talented writer with a demonstrated ability to write quick, clean copy about the biggest stories happening in housing for an audience of real estate professionals.
The general assignment reporter will produce several original news stories per day on mortgage lenders, fintech companies, real estate brokerages, title insurance firms, appraisers and more.
These are some of the most influential companies in America, and we’re looking for a reporter to gain an insider’s understanding of the tactics they employ to gain an edge, the growing rivalries, and the challenges they face in integrating technology and maintaining regulatory compliance.
The successful candidate will need to be insatiably curious and possess top-notch critical thinking skills. Experience in business journalism, specifically real estate, is a huge plus.
The ideal candidate can develop sources, asks tough questions, and is comfortable with translating business jargon into plain English.
This position is remote; the candidate does not have to be in New York City or Dallas, where we are headquartered. We pay very competitively, offer a 401K match, full health benefits, and highly generous PTO.
Personal development is a critical component of our core beliefs – we’re constantly thinking about how to advance talented reporters and editors to grow and do more impactful work.
Built on a foundation of independent and original journalism, HousingWire reaches over 90,000 newsletter subscribers daily and over 1 million unique visitors each month. HousingWire is the flagship publication of HW Media, which also owns and operates Real Trends, Altos Research and Reverse Mortgage Daily.
