Brian is the founder of Cleveland-based True Impact Communications, which has crafted strategic PR and content messaging for mortgage lenders, title underwriters, former agency presidents, title agents, HUD and CFPB leaders, tech developers, brokerages and appraisal managers since 2008. Through it all, he’s built and maintained relationships with reporters, editors, trade association directors and publishers – but no one who knew him in college could have anticipated this.
After graduating from law school and passing the Connecticut Bar Exam, Brian went to work for one of New Haven’s leading law firms. He expected a lifelong career, not a two-year stint as a litigator. Yet, by 2001, he knew that the practice of law was not his calling.
Brian started his PR and marketing career with a small publisher serving the title industry, where he helped organize and promote the brand’s seminars and conferences, meeting a number of thought leaders along the way. He also played an integral role in spinning off a small, industry-focused public relations agency.
In 2018, Brian partnered with long-time friend and content guru Rick Grant to launch the mortgage industry’s only business-to-business focused content marketing agency, Content Beacon. Today, Content Beacon provides thought provoking content for TPO lenders, title underwriters, think tanks and innovative technology providers, among others. Brian and Rick are also joined weekly by Guaranteed Rate’s Kevin Breeland in co-hosting the “3 Guys & an iPad” podcast, which regularly hosts mortgage thought leaders and innovators.
