HousingWire just launched its fifth, and final, awards program.
And, while it’s in excellent company, I’m particularly jazzed about our newest awards program: The HW Vanguard Awards.
Unlike our other, editorial and independent awards programs — Rising Stars, Influential Women in Housing, the Fast50 and the TECH100 — The Vanguard Award will go to any leader in the mortgage finance industry who can prove they have a huge impact on the housing economy.
The Vanguard Awards is an open recognition program designed to highlight our own “leaders of the year” at HousingWire, and will be featured in our double December/January special issue.
We’re very excited about the HW Vanguard Awards, as they will represent a crowning achievement for industry leaders selected to be honored; but this program also completes HousingWire editorial’s long-term plan to build out a complete list of awards and recognition programs for the U.S. housing economy.
So what do we mean by industry impact?
The question is best answered in the words of HousingWire’s publisher and editor-in-chief, Paul Jackson:
"We're looking to see leaders who have led their companies to new heights; who have launched bold new initiatives, products or services designed to improve U.S. housing finance or real estate; who have served their industry in meaningful ways outside of their own company; who have influenced policy or industry standards -- and much more.
"Impact doesn't always need to be measured in quantifiable terms, but it's always visible, which is why we use the word 'tangible' to describe the standard we're looking for when we select a Vanguard."
