Wells Fargo, BB&T report more cyber attacks

Wells Fargo (WFC) and BB&T (BBT) both fell victim to another cyber attack on Thursday, adding to the recent surge in well-known cases involving major companies.

The attacks stem from a so-called hacktivist group called Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Cyber Fighters, who have admitted to launching cyber attacks on major U.S. banks, according to an article in News & Observer.

The cyber hacking usually entail the website denying users service, with some users just seeing slowness and others an error message.

The U.S. attorney general is aware of the growing concern of cyber crime and is advancing the fight against threats, the article claims.
