Andrew Olmem is joining law firm Venable LLP as a partner.
He also will serve as a member of the Financial Services, and Legislative and Government Affairs Practice Groups.
Olmem served on the staff of the Senate Banking Committee for more than seven years, playing a key role during Congress’ consideration of the Dodd-Frank Act.
Prior to his Congressional staff service, Olmem was a corporate and securities attorney for Mayer Brown and at Shaw Pittman.
“Andrew’s reputation as a keen thinker and strategist will be an excellent fit with our legislative practice,” said Brock Landry, co-chair at the government division of Venable.
He added, “He knows the Hill well and, as important, the Hill knows him. We are delighted that he is joining Venable.”
