Mortgage insurer United Guaranty Corp. promoted Brian Gould to the position of chief operating officer.

Gould joined the company back in 1999 and currently oversees underwriting, claims, loss mitigation, customer support, service operations and business analytics for the firm.

Prior to his promotion, he had what United Guaranty calls ‘functional oversight of these areas for United Guaranty’s international businesses.’

Gould joined United Guaranty well over a decade ago, overseeing pool operations and then eventually the structured products group. He also served as senior vice president for education loans.

In addition to Gould’s promotion, the company appointed Michael Hitt senior vice president of insurance operations. Hitt, who served previously as vice president, will report directly to Gould.
