UBS looks to transform its image

Not long ago you couldn’t pay people enough to work at UBS nor could you convince investors to keep their money there. Then Robert McCann showed up.

McCann joined UBS in 2009 to lead its then struggling U.S. wealth management unit which houses its retail brokerage force. When he joined assets and brokers were fleeing at a damaging pace. Three years later the same group is the hottest firm on the Street with client assets and brokers from rival firm flowing in, and all the while providing its struggling Swiss parent company with much needed stability.
