SunTrust Mortgage is offering a $500 credit toward lender closing costs for clients who qualify for a new mortgage or refinancing.

The company said the offer will run through Sept. 30 and applies to first-lien mortgages originated during this period, including purchase, refinance and HARP loans.

“As the housing market continues to improve, we’re seeing an increased demand in home purchase financing, as well as continuing demand for refinancing in the ongoing relatively low-rate environment,” said Jerome Lienhard, president of SunTrust Mortgage. 

He added, “This offer makes it easier for clients to benefit from attractive rates with reduced closing costs.”
