Specialized Loan Servicing to create 250 jobs in new Tempe office

Specialized Loan Servicing, a servicer of home loans, just opened a 40,000 square-foot office in Tempe, Ariz., to accommodate the company’s growing servicing portfolio.

The Highlands Ranch, Colo.-based servicer said its new Arizona office could create up to 250 jobs.

“The opening of our Arizona location marks a significant step for our business,” said John Beggins, CEO of SLS. “Our expanded operations, capacity and business continuity programs will allow us to best serve the needs of investors and customers.”

SLS is a special servicer with a portfolio of 248,000 loans valued at $27.5 billion in unpaid balance.

SLS was one of three firms that benefitted from Countrywide Financial (now BofA) transferring 38,000 loans to special servicers back in June. About 73% of those Countrywide loans were moved to SLS.
