A writer for the Sacramento Business Journal recently grew frustrated when a property he wanted already had dozens of investors lined up to compete with him. It seems investors in the area are keen to snatch up existing real estate at rock bottom prices.

As for the distressed writer, he believes new homebuyers are having to turn to new construction to avoid relentless competition from investors who are dominating the existing home sales space.
