Report blames math-challenged Americans for foreclosure crisis

Everyone has been blamed for the foreclosure crisis.

Fingers have been pointed at the president, Congress, the big banks, mortgage servicers … and now math-challenged Americans.

Yes, that’s right.

A new study claims Americans who have trouble dividing the number 300 by two are more likely to land in foreclosure when compared to consumers with average math skills, CNBC reports.

While this is a new and interesting take on the crisis, it fails to answer the lingering question: How were the math skills of those who approved the loans?
