Real estate agents prefer iPhones, Androids when getting the word out

Most real estate professionals prefer iPhones and Androids when communicating with clients and colleagues, according to a new survey from Realis Real Estate Software.

About 43% of the professionals interviewed use iPhones, while 41% remain attached to Androids and 9% own Blackberrys.

Only 3% use Windows 7 phones and 4% subscribe to other services.

Denver-based Realis, which provides workflow management software for real estate agents, conducted the survey to get a better gauge of what communication tools agents prefer.

The iPhone and Android remain the favored products overall.

“As we look forward to launching our next product, Overture, we wanted to best understand the market we will be selling to through this informative survey,” said Lauren Roberts, CEO and founder of Realis. “Because the industry is beginning to recover from the housing crash, it is more important than ever for real estate agents to utilize the best and most efficient technology to further their business.”

Realis noted that 56% of iPhone users also own iPads and 58% of Android owners possess a tablet.

One of the more interesting finds from the survey is the strong preference agents have for social media.

Realis discovered that 75% of iPhone users in real estate depend on social media while 55% of Android owners take to social media sites.
