RE brokers blame public sector cuts for loss of curb appeal

The loss of public employees to budget cuts is causing lease tenants to avoid certain cities, The New York Times reported.

The paper interviewed at least one real estate broker who says a decline in city inspectors is delaying construction on new projects. In addition, he claims lease tenants are wary of markets that are losing law enforcement personnel and code officials.
