NewOak Capital appointed Rachel Gould as general counsel and managing director of the Manhattan-based asset management firm Tuesday. Her duties include the legal representation of the firm and leadership in the expansion of NewOak’s data analytics and portfolio construction platform, called Solutions and Advisory. Prior to joining NewOak, Gould was an attorney at Boston-based Eckert Seamans, where she represented banks, investors, hedge funds and investment banking institutions in all areas of financial and commercial real estate transactions. As a 12-year veteran of financial law, Gould also worked on cases concerning the structuring and closing of mortgage loan transactions, and business acquisitions. “Rachel’s diverse skill-set and background will help us expand the reach and breadth of our financial advisory services,” said James Frischling, president and co-founder of NewOak Capital.
