The Mortgage Bankers Association appointed Pete Mills senior vice president of residential policy and member services on Oct. 1.
Mills will oversee the MBA’s residential member engagement, focusing a great deal of his time on retention and recruiting.
The longtime mortgage finance executive brings 25 years of experience in public affairs, government relations as well as public policy and research to his new role.
Mills most recently served consulting and public policy organization, Mortgage Banking Initiatives, as managing director.
Prior to that, he managed corporate public affairs for Countrywide Financial and oversaw trade association policy advocacy for the California Mortgage Bankers Association and the California Association of Realtors. He also conducted housing policy research with the Federal Reserve Board.
“Pete is a superb addition to the MBA leadership corps. He brings decades of industry experience and has long-standing relationships with MBA members making him a natural choice for this job,” said MBA president and CEO David Stevens.
