Lender Processing Services (LPS) named Florida’s former Deputy Attorney General Joe Jacquot senior vice president of government affairs Monday. The mortgage processing firm said Jacquot, who also served as Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum’s chief of staff, will lead all of LPS’ efforts on the legislative, political and public affairs-fronts. Jacquot also will be responsible for taking note of emerging legal issues by analyzing pending regulation and legislation that could effect firms like LPS in the mortgage services space. “Joe’s extensive legal and legislative experience will help LPS maintain effective governmental relationships so that we can continue to remain compliant with all requirements and regulations, as well as help government representatives better understand the industries LPS serves and our role in supporting those industries through leading technology solutions,” said Todd Johnson, LPS executive vice president and general counsel. Prior to serving the Florida AG’s office, Jacquot held the position of deputy chief counsel for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee. During his time on the committee, he handled the Supreme Court confirmations of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Samual Alito. Write to Kerri Panchuk.
