Lenders look to real estate agents for mortgage boost

Refinance applications are dwindling, causing mortgage lenders to have to find alternative ways to push their business.

This year Wells Fargo (WFC) is using former University of Notre Dame football coach Lou Holtz to speak to real estate agents to attract new business, according to a report from Bloomberg.

Lenders are looking towards real estate agents as a visible channel for receiving more home loan purchase applications, the article notes.
