HOPE LoanPort names Camillo Melchiorre CEO

Camillo Melchiorre, the executive who cut his teeth leading the HOPE NOW Alliance Technology Committee, is assuming the role of CEO and President for the HOPE LoanPort, an entity that offers housing counselors a proprietary, Web-based tool to use when helping distressed borrowers. Melchiorre will assume his new position on Thursday. The HOPE LoanPort is familiar territory for Melchiorre, who led that committee that eventually resulted in the creation of the portal. Melchiorre is coming from mortgage insurer Radian Guaranty (RDN), where he served as senior vice president of loss management. In his most recent position, he oversaw loss mitigation, business systems management, default servicing strategy, default analytics, servicer relationship-management, industry communications and training. He also functioned as a liaison to the government-sponsored enterprises. He previously held executive positions within LandAmerica Lender Services and Freddie Mac, where he was a charter member of the Freddie Mac Servicer Advisory Board. “I have been involved with HOPE LoanPort since its birth at the HOPE NOW Alliance and I am excited to have the opportunity to take this important ‘public utility’ to the next level,” Melchiorre said in a statement. “We have just barely tapped into the potential of what this tool can do for the mortgage industry, the non-profit counseling community and communities nationwide.” Write to: Kerri Panchuk.
