Four more banks could settle with state AGs over foreclosures

Four additional banks are facing the scrutiny of state attorneys general over their handling of foreclosures, Bloomberg-Businessweek reported Friday.

The publication cited unnamed sources who claim U.S. Bancorp (USB), PNC Financial Services (PNC), SunTrust Banks Inc. are in discussions with state and federal officials over allegations that the loan servicers did not properly handle foreclosure documents.

No potential settlement amount was given, but the alleged talks are similar to whisperings that occurred before the nation’s big banks cut a deal with state AGs and regulators.
