The search for a new Freddie Mac CEO may have led the GSE to Donald Layton, former chief executive of online brokerage firm E*Trade Financial, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The publication cites people close to the matter as saying Layton is a finalist, and possibly the frontrunner, in the GSE’s search for a new Freddie CEO.
