Former BofA CFO claims she’s the “scapegoat” in fraud suit

Former Chief Operating Officer Rebecca Mairone of a lending division at Bank of America (BAC) subsidiary Countrywide Financial urged a New York federal judge to drop her from the government’s $1 billion False Claims Act suit, which alleges the bank sold sour mortgages to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Mairone claims the goverment is seeking a “scapegoat for its faulty theory.”
