As foreclosures continue to trouble the local housing market, the Kane County Sheriff’s Office in St. Charles, Ill., has asked for help in processing the distressed properties.
Next month, the County Board is expected to consider a request from the sheriff’s office to pay an additional $41,000 a year for a new office worker to schedule and push through paperwork on the hundreds of foreclosure sales staged by the office each month.
The request comes as representatives of Kane County Sheriff Pat Perez report that the sheriff’s office has become buried under the strain of a continuous stream of home foreclosure judgments requiring processing.
