Florida foreclosure bill draws praise, critics

A controversial Florida state House Bill aims to speed up the foreclosure process in the hardest-hit state, but opposition to the legislation still abounds.

House Bill 87 was designed to clear the state’s much discussed foreclosure backlog by giving borrowers judicial reviews in a more ‘streamlined fashion,’ writes the Sarasota Herald Tribune.

Opponents claim the sped-up process will only make it more difficult for borrowers to prove a lender committed various ‘misdeeds or errors’ during the foreclosure process, the newspaper writes.
