FHA plans to increase sale of delinquent mortgages

The Federal Housing Administration plans to increase its sale of loans to investors due to a growing backlog of delinquent home mortgages, the Wall Street Journal reported Friday.

The FHA has 700,000 loans in default and believes ramping up bulk mortgage sales will help reduce the backlog of foreclosed properties on the organization’s books.
