Special servicer Fay Servicing hired attorney Loren Morris to serve as general counsel, chief compliance officer and executive vice president this week.

Morris joins the Chicago-based firm after spending 25 years working in the financial services, mortgage banking, servicing and secondary mortgage markets.

Most recently, he served Retreat Capital Management as general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Prior to that, he held executive positions within Bank of America (BAC), Goldman Sachs (GS) and HSBC (HBC).

“Given his combination of legal and operational experience through various economic and credit cycles, Loren is a great fit with our growing organization,” said Ed Fay, chief executive officer of Fay Servicing. “His past success and knowledge of the legal issues impacting leading mortgage-focused financial institutions will further enable us to provide enhanced levels of service that fully meet the requirements of mortgage industry regulators.”
