CRE Finance Council selects Vanderslice president

The CRE Finance Council, a commercial real estate trade association, selected Paul Vanderslice as president of its 2012-2013 term.

He succeeds Jack Cohen, chief executive of Cohen Financial, who served as president of CREFC for the past 12 months. Presidential terms run for one year at a time.

Vanderslice is a managing director for Citigroup Global Markets, where he is co-head of the U.S. commercial mortgage-backed securities group.

“I am pleased to serve as CREFC’s President,” Vanderslice said. “I’m looking forward to facilitating involvement from all industry participants in the development of policies and practices that will bring about strong and healthy commercial real estate finance markets.”

CREFC consists of more than 225 companies and 5,500 individuals from throughout the $3.1 trillion commercial real estate finance industry. Members include commercial banks, insurance companies, private equity funds, mortgage real estate investment trusts, investment grade and B-piece buyers, servicers and rating agencies.
