Cordray renominated to CFPB post

It may be safe to take Richard Cordray’s name off the list of Democrats who intend to run for Ohio governor next year. President Barack Obama will renominate the former Ohio attorney general today to head the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.

When officially accepting the nomination, Cordray said the bureau’s mission remains the same: ensuring people “are treated fairly” and handling the financial markets and consumer issues with “open minds, open ears” and great determination.
