Central bank prepares for 4Q slump

During the past three years, the central bank planned to cut accommodation early in the year only to boost it after economic growth fell behind predictions.

Determined not to repeat history, the Federal Reserve is expected to push on with its $85 billion routine in monthly bond purchases through the summer, said Drew Matus, deputy chief U.S. economist at UBS Securities.
