The liquidators of a mortgage-securities fund set up by the Carlyle Group are filing a lawsuit against the Washington DC-based private equity firm, a spokesman confirmed. The lawsuit, which is being filed in multiple jurisdictions in the United States and Europe, alleges the private equity firm and the former directors of Carlyle Capital Corp breached their fiduciary duty to investors in the more than $1bn fund, which collapsed in 2008.
